Walker County detectives say they found three guns, “a large amount of cash,” packages of marijuana and more than a pound of methamphetamine during a traffic stop Friday afternoon.

The Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit charged Jonathan Lamar Perkins, 40, of Rossville, with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, detectives Zack Simpson and Allan Ellenburg stopped Perkins’ car. The report does not say where the detectives stopped him or why.

But after the stop, they say they found a gun on him. They say they also found a black backpack with a shard substance that they field tested and confirmed to be methamphetamine. They also found two more guns, marijuana that was packaged for resale and some cash, according to the affidavit.

The report does not say how much money they found. It also does not say how much marijuana was in the car – just “several bags.”
