Investigators have identified the victim in a fatal collision Saturday involving a passenger car and freight train at a railroad crossing on Reavley Road in Sale Creek.

Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office officials said in a statement issued Monday that the driver killed in the crash has been identified as 69-year-old Leslie Smith. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene on Saturday, officials said.

No one else was in Smith’s vehicle, officials said. At least two roads were closed while investigators worked at the scene.
