Man charged after leaving suspicious package for Trump

Calhoun Police have charged a Rossville, Ga. resident in connection with a suspicious package left behind at the Calhoun National Guard Armory in Calhoun, Ga.

At 7:15 a.m. Friday morning, a white male identified as Kenneth LeBron Medley entered onto the property of the National Guard Armory and spoke with guardsmen demanding they hold a package for President Donald Trump. Medley, 55, then left traveling south on Rivers Street. A deputy with the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office stopped Medley on Highway 53.

Tony Pyle said.

Medley has been charged with one count of criminal trespass, and remains in the Gordon County Jail with further charges pending.

Copperheads bite 4 kids in a little over a week

Copperhead snakes have bitten four children in Alabama in just over a week.

WRBC-TV reports that two 12-year-old girls were bitten during a nature walk behind a Chilton County high school, and one of them was being treated Friday.

Al.com reports that a 7-year-old boy was bitten Thursday night in one Birmingham suburb, and an 8-year-old girl was bitten on Sept. 6 in another suburb. Birmingham is about 45 miles north of the community of Isabella, where the 12-year-olds were bitten.

An assistant research professor at the Auburn University Museum of Natural History tells Al.com copperheads are found throughout Alabama and are common in some areas. David Steen says they may be encountered more often in the fall, when they may be seeking mates or places to hibernate.
