RINGGOLD, Ga. – Both the host Heritage Generals and the Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors feel there are plenty of good, young players on this year’s teams to make up for a pair of superb graduating classes.

While that’s quite likely true, a capacity crowd Friday night at Heritage (before the threat of bad weather chased most of it away) saw that while the Warriors might be rebuilding, the Generals have reloaded.

Before a weather delay was called at halftime, Heritage’s Jeffery Curtis scored the year’s first two touchdowns, and the fans were treated to two 90-yard kickoff returns – one for each side – but there was much too much offense and plenty of opportunistic defense to allow the Generals to take a halftime lead of 35-20.

Their final margin was 41-27.

Curtis, who rushed for 74 yards in the half, scored less than two minutes into the game after a convergence on LFO’s stellar senior back, Nathan Williams, separated him from the football. It took just three plays to score.
