Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jon Meacham, a Chattanooga native, will be in Knoxville on Sunday for the next-to-last appearance on the media tour for his latest book, “The Soul of America: The Battle for Our Better Angels” (Random House, 382 pages, $30).
In his new best-seller, the presidential historian places the current moment in American politics in context to other critical times in the nation’s history when hope overcame division.
U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander will lead a conversation with Meacham at the appearance, which begins at 7 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 620 State St. The $35 ticket includes a copy of the book.
Tickets are available at Union Ave Books, 517 Union Ave., a co-sponsor of the event with Friends of the Knox County Public Library.
