The Dalton Police Department is asking the public for help identifying two suspects in what they call an armed robbery of an local business that happened on Saturday.
Though no weapon was seen by victims, both men were described as holding their hands by their waistbands under their shirts as if they had concealed handguns.
They are described as dark skinned, possibly Hispanic males. The first was thin and wore a blue t-shirt and blue jeans with black shoes and a black baseball cap. The second wore a white shirt with a black stripe and white pants with white flip flop shoes with red markings and a dark baseball cap.
The incident took place at the Discolatin store at 1125 East Walnut Avenue at around 3:45 p.m.
A man walked into the store and began talking to one of the employees and said that he wanted to make a money transfer. When the employee turned to walk to the money transfer station, the man walked behind her and grabbed her wrist and pulled it up behind her back and forced her back to the cash register.
When another employee noticed what was happening, a second male entered the store and told him not to move “or I’ll pop you.”
The men took approximately $200 in cash from the cash register and then fled the store. They left in a red vehicle, possibly a Ford Taurus, that was parked in front of the nearby “Act A Fool” business.
Dalton police investigators determined that the same men pulled an armed robbery at a Hispanic-owned business in Calhoun later the same day, getting away with more than $2,500 in cash. They are also suspected in a June 9th robbery in Bartow County.
Anyone who recognizes these suspects or has any information on this crime is asked to please contact Detective James Yarbrough at 706-278-9085, extension 9156.
