Wilcox Tunnel will be closed from March 12 to March 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day for cleaning and surface treatments, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Department of Transportation.
The tunnel will also be fully closed from March 23 through April 6 due to the installation of large scale murals on the tunnel entrances.
Detour plans have been developed to minimize the impact to area traffic, businesses and residents. Detour maps can be found on the City of Chattanooga’s website and posted detour signs will guide drivers around the area, according to the release.
