From FEED Co. Table and Tavern’s Main Street-facing patio, Lookout Mountain can be seen against the horizon, becoming more green every day. As that fresh foliage flourishes, so does FEED Co.

The restaurant’s patio planters are blooming and soon, said General Manager Heather Jennings, FEED is resuming live outdoor entertainment. Within the restaurant things are taking root, too. Recently, FEED began growing its off-site catering business.

“People are asking for it,” said executive chef Charlie Loomis. “We’ve had to turn people down because we didn’t have the capacity.”

To help bolster business, FEED plans to add a catering van and a second crew. And that will save more time for FEED’s staff to plan fun seasonal events, such as its upcoming Oskar Blues Brewery beer dinner.

On May 9 at 6 p.m. FEED will host the dinner, featuring five different Oskar Blues brews paired with different plates. This type of event often sells out, said Heather. To find out about tickets, she recommends following FEED on Facebook or calling the restaurant.

And in the meantime? Why not kick back on FEED’s patio with a bite and a brew? It’s the perfect time — and place — to watch the city turn spring green.
