Hamilton County's public schools will open Tuesday on a two-hour delay because of the forecast of high winds and possible area tornado activity during bus travel times, the system's spokesman said in a news release.
Tim Hensley said a National Weather Service forecast calls for winds and wind shears of 30-60 mph Tuesday morning, a situation that can be hazardous for bus transportation.
School-age child care will open at the normal time, the release states.
