Mocs report: The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is coming off a last-second 81-79 loss to UT-Martin on Wednesday at McKenzie Arena. While the Mocs were in control for much of the night, they were outscored 21-14 in the final period and committed 22 turnovers in the game that led to 31 points for the Skyhawks. Particularly disappointing to the Mocs was a poor showing at the foul line in the second half that cost them a chance to extend their lead.

Knights report: The University of Central Florida continued its strong start with a 71-56 win against Villanova this past Sunday in the UCF Thanksgiving Classic. Wright scored 20 points, grabbed 20 rebounds and tallied six assists to lead the Knights, who forced the Wildcats into 21 turnovers, leading to 23 points. It was the fourth time this season the Knights have scored at least 70 points in a game.

Key matchup: UTC will be playing for the sixth time in 12 days, a busy stretch around a holiday break - make that a break for others, not the Mocs - that is serving as the kind of early-season gut check that could prove valuable down the line. Finding a will to win even without the freshest of legs will be the mission for the Mocs, who share a common opponent with the Knights. Central Michigan has beaten both teams already this season, topping the visiting Knights 75-68 on Nov. 21 and taking down the Mocs 73-50 on Sunday at Virginia's Cavalier Classic in Charlottesville.
