Juvenile admits to killing 19-year-old woman in Chattanooga shooting

A 19-year-old woman was killed Monday night in Chattanooga after a shooting in the North Chamberlain Avenue and Wilder Street area.

Police located the victim, Shawnquell Stanfield, lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds upon arrival.

Hamilton County EMS transported Stanfield to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

Police identified a suspect who admitted to shooting the victim. The suspect is a juvenile being charged with criminal homicide, possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, especially aggravated robbery, theft over $10,000 and felony reckless endangerment.

The suspect was transported to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center.
