What do you call a balanced diet? A taco in each hand.

Chattanooga’s first Taco Crawl sponsored by Bar Crawl USA is set for Saturday, April 6, in restaurants around the North Shore. Spend a spring afternoon strolling the North Shore eating tacos and enjoying margarita, tequila and beer specials.

Bar Crawl USA organizes food events across the country, such as the Taco & Tequila crawls being held in St. Pete, Florida, on April 6 and in Orlando on April 13. This is not the same company that put on the Taco & Tequila Festival last year in First Tennessee Pavilion.

Restaurants on the crawl are Poblanos Mexican Cuisine, Embargo 62, Mexiville, Edley’s Bar-B-Que, Basecamp Bar and Restaurant and Heaven & Ale Brewing Co. Participants can pick and choose any or all for stops. Most are within walking distance of each other.

Two crawls are scheduled: a general admission and VIP. Sales of general-admission tickets closed March 31. However, tickets remain for the VIP crawl from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., which includes a Taco Crawl T-shirt, five tacos, signature koozie, crawl map and exclusive party stops to dance off the tacos and margaritas. Tickets are $37.50 to $40 depending on the size T-shirt ordered. Ticketholders must be 21 or older.
