A 95-year-old woman was killed just before 4 p.m. Saturday in a two-car crash in the 6800 block of East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga police said in a news release.
Francis Parris was killed after a Buick driven by 91-year-old Phyllis Bates turned from East Brainerd Road onto Hickory Valley Road in front of a Chevrolet pickup truck driven by 21-year-old Oz Perez that was traveling westbound on East Brainerd Road with a green signal. The truck collided with the Buick, police said.
Parris was transported to a local hospital where she died. The drivers of the Buick and Chevrolet were uninjured. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available, police said.
