Fresh off her national television debut on Aug. 17, Molly Tuttle is booked in Songbirds North Thursday, Aug. 22.
The 26-year-old singer-songwriter and award-winning guitarist has been on upward trajectory since the release of her breakthrough debut album, “When You’re Ready,” in April.
Tuttle was asked by Brandi Carlile to join her onstage at Telluride Bluegrass Festival, with Carlile then extending an invitation to join her at the Newport Folk Festival to be part of the all-star, all-woman historic jam that featured country legend Dolly Parton.
In coming weeks, Tuttle will be a featured performer at AmericanaFest 2019 (where she was 2018’s Instrumentalist of the Year), her official showcase takes place at City Winery in Nashville on Sept.12. She’ll also be doing shows with Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit, Old Crow Medicine Show and, in November, Hiss Golden Messenger.
Since moving to Nashville in 2015, the native Californian has been welcomed into folk music, bluegrass, Americana and traditional country communities. Over the past year, Tuttle won Folk Alliance International’s Song of the Year for “You Didn’t Call My Name” and took home her second trophy for the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Guitar Player of the Year – the first woman in the history of the IBMA to win that honor.
Graced with a clear, true voice and a keen melodic sense, the artist has become a word- of-mouth sensation for her incredible flatpicking guitar technique.
