AUG. 31
VANDERBILT
7:30 p.m., Vanderbilt Stadium
Nashville
TV/Radio: SEC Network/102.3 FM
Series history: The Commodores are no strangers to pulling upsets in this series, having done so in 2006, 2013 and 2016, but the past two meetings have been Georgia runaways. The Bulldogs cruised to a 45-14 victory two years ago in Nashville and produced a 41-13 cakewalk last season in Sanford Stadium, though there were moments by Vandy running back Ke’Shawn Vaughn, who gained 79 yards on nine carries. Georgia holds a 57-20-2 series advantage.
SEPT. 7
MURRAY STATE
4 p.m., Sanford Stadium
Athens, Georgia
TV/Radio: ESPN2/102.3 FM
Series history: This will be the second meeting between the Bulldogs and the Racers and the first since 1945, when Georgia triumphed 49-0 in Athens. Georgia’s star player in 1945 was Charley Trippi, who competed in the final six contests of that season after serving in the Air Force and receiving his discharge, so he did not play in the Murray State opener. The Racers are Georgia’s lone Football Championship Subdivision opponent this season and went 5-6 last year, going 5-3 in Ohio Valley Conference games and sustaining a 48-10 loss at Kentucky.
SEPT. 14
ARKANSAS STATE
Noon, Sanford Stadium
Athens, Georgia
TV/Radio: SEC Network/102.3 FM
Series history: Georgia’s two wins over the Red Wolves occurred in 1997 and 2001, with the 45-17 victory in 2001 the first of the 42 David Greene amassed as the Bulldogs’ starting quarterback, which set an NCAA record at that time. Arkansas State is coming off an 8-5 season that ended with an overtime loss to Nevada in the Arizona Bowl. The Red Wolves traveled to Alabama last year and trailed 40-0 at halftime of an eventual 57-7 setback.
SEPT. 21
NOTRE DAME
8 p.m., Sanford Stadium
Athens, Georgia
TV/Radio: CBS/102.3 FM
Series history: This is a series that has been very short and very sweet for the Bulldogs. The first Georgia-Notre Dame matchup took place in the Sugar Bowl after the 1980 regular season. The Bulldogs entered New Orleans 11-0 and ranked No. 1, and they clinched the program’s lone Associated Press national championship with a 17-10 triumph that was powered by Herschel Walker’s 150 rushing yards. Their second meeting occurred two years ago in South Bend, when Georgia fans comprised more than 40% of the audience in a 20-19 Bulldogs win.
OCT. 5
TENNESSEE
TBA, Neyland Stadium
Knoxville
TV/Radio: TBA/102.3 FM
Series history: Georgia is 7-2 against Tennessee this decade, producing a surge that has knotted this all-time series at 23-23-2. The Bulldogs methodically beat the Volunteers 38-12 last season in Athens, and their 41-0 win inside Neyland Stadium two years ago was the worst loss Tennessee ever has suffered at home. Tennessee won the 2016 meeting, 34-31, on a 43-yard Hail Mary pass from Josh Dobbs to Jauan Jennings as time expired. The Bulldogs had taken a 31-28 lead on a 47-yard touchdown pass from Jacob Eason to Riley Ridley with 10 seconds remaining.
OCT. 12
SOUTH CAROLINA
TBA, Sanford Stadium
Athens, Georgia
TV/Radio: TBA/102.3 FM
Series history: The Bulldogs and Gamecocks met in early November two years ago and in early September last season and now will vie in mid October. Steve Spurrier coached South Carolina to five wins in eight series meetings from 2007 to 2014, but Georgia has won the past four encounters by double digits, including last season’s 41-17 drubbing in Columbia. The Bulldogs have an overwhelming 51-18-2 series edge in this border rivalry. Georgia and South Carolina were picked 1-2 in the SEC East race before last season but were picked first and fourth this year.
OCT. 19
KENTUCKY
TBA, Sanford Stadium
Athens, Georgia
TV/Radio: TBA/102.3 FM
Series history: This matchup decided the East last season, with the Bulldogs traveling to Kroger Field and thumping the Wildcats 34-17 behind 156 rushing yards by D’Andre Swift and 117 from Elijah Holyfield. That was Georgia’s ninth consecutive win in a series that it leads 58-12-2. Should the Bulldogs win again this year, they would match the 10 straight against the Wildcats that they achieved from 1978 to 1987.
NOV. 2
FLORIDA
3:30 p.m., TIAA Bank Stadium
Jacksonville, Florida
TV/Radio: CBS/102.3 FM
Series history: Georgia followed up its 42-7 thrashing of the Gators two years ago with a 36-17 win last season, marking the first time the Bulldogs have defeated Florida by double digits in consecutive years since 1987-88. The Gators led last season’s game 14-13 early in the third quarter before Georgia broke free. Georgia holds a 52-43-2 series advantage despite a 3-18 skid from 1990 to 2010, when the Bulldogs went 1-11 against Spurrier, 1-2 against Ron Zook and 1-5 against Urban Meyer.
NOV. 9
MISSOURI
TBA, Sanford Stadium
Athens, Georgia
TV/Radio: TBA, 102.3 FM
Series history: The Bulldogs increased their series advantage over the Tigers to 7-1 with last season’s 43-29 victory in Columbia. Missouri’s only success against Georgia was a 41-26 triumph at Sanford Stadium in 2013, when the Tigers posted an 11-1 regular season before losing the SEC title game to Auburn. This will be the first meeting between the two to take place in November.
NOV. 16
AUBURN
TBA, Jordan-Hare Stadium
TV/Radio: TBA/102.3 FM
Series history: Georgia has won 11 of the past 14 series meetings to turn a 48-53-8 deficit into a 59-56-8 advantage. The Bulldogs won 27-10 last year following a split of their contests in 2017, when Auburn won the regular-season meeting and Georgia exacted revenge in the SEC championship game. The Bulldogs have suffered double-digit losses in road games against SEC West foes every year under Kirby Smart: 45-14 at Ole Miss in 2016, 40-17 at Auburn in 2017 and 36-16 at LSU last year.
NOV. 23
TEXAS A&M
TBA, Sanford Stadium
Athens, Georgia
TV/Radio: TBA/102.3 FM
Series history: The Bulldogs have one of the nation’s toughest November schedules this season, and the Aggies are why. There have been recent years in which Georgia has been able to sandwich Charleston Southern, Louisiana-Lafayette and UMass in between the Auburn and Georgia Tech games, but the Aggies will begin this season with lofty aspirations after last year ended with a seven-overtime win over LSU and a Gator Bowl demolishing of North Carolina State. The Bulldogs trail 3-2 in the series against Texas A&M but won the last two meetings, 42-0 in 1980 at Sanford Stadium and 44-20 in the Independence Bowl after the 2009 season.
NOV. 30
GEORGIA TECH
TBA, Bobby Dodd Stadium
Atlanta
TV/Radio: TBA/102.3 FM
Series history: For the first time since 2007, the Bulldogs will not have to prepare for the triple-option offense in this in-state rivalry. Georgia has won the past two meetings with ease, 38-7 two years ago and 45-21 last season in a game that was 45-7 through three quarters. The Bulldogs went 8-0 against Georgia Tech in Atlanta under Mark Richt, so a win this year would make that 10 in a row. Georgia holds the series lead at 67-39-5.
