Police are investigating after a man was allegedly shot Thursday while riding his bicycle on Lightfoot Mill Road.
The man was taken by a personal vehicle to a local hospital, which notified Chattanooga police around 6:25 p.m., according to a news release.
Upon arrival, police learned the 27-year-old victim had multiple gunshot wounds. He said he had been riding in the 3300 block of Lightfoot Mill Road when he heard gunshots and realized he had been shot.
No suspect information has been provided.
It was one of two shootings that happened within a six-hour period. Another person was injured early Friday in a shooting on Montview Drive. That incident is also being investigated.

These shootings follow an especially violent weekend in Chattanooga in which five people were shot, one fatally.
