Heaven & Ale Brewing Co. is expanding its food offerings thanks to a partnership with Brandon Ellis of Chatter Box, known for its several food trucks offering smoked barbecue at venues around town.

Ellis has been preparing food such as tacos, barbecue and wings - including his popular tofu wings - for Heaven & Ale customers since 2013, when it was a craft beer bar and growler-filling station.

"Brandon's the best pitmaster in town," said Heaven & Ale owner Joe Winland.

Chatter Box is now parking one of its food trucks at the Cherokee Boulevard brewery on a permanent basis, providing entrees in addition to the appetizers already on Heaven & Ale's menu.

Offerings include Korean beef tacos with kimchi slaw, pulled pork sliders with apple mustard coleslaw, smoked wings and a rotating weekly special. There's also a veggie plate of three sides, with options such as macaroni and cheese, smoked scalloped potatoes, Brussels sprouts and coleslaw.

"Beer and barbecue go together from a flavor perspective, and they're both enjoyed in a social atmosphere," Ellis said of the time-honored pairing. "We're trying to take that tradition and improve upon it. If you appreciate them both as an art, you like to get a hold of something made by someone who has a passion for it."

Heaven & Ale Brewing Co. is at 300 Cherokee Blvd., Suite 101, and can be reached at 521-4222. For more information, about Chatter Box and its pop-up locations, visit facebook.com/chatterbox423.
