The practice location may have changed for Alabama’s football team.
The message hasn’t.
Alabama held its second consecutive workout in Orlando, Florida, on Friday, practicing for two hours in full pads at Celebration High School. It was the ninth of 12 total workouts for the Crimson Tide (10-2) leading up to their New Year’s Day matchup with Michigan (9-3) in the Citrus Bowl.
Saturday, as the College Football Playoff has its showcase semifinal matchups of LSU versus Oklahoma in the Peach Bowl and Clemson versus Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl, Alabama will conduct another practice well away from the sport’s spotlight. This is the sixth year of the four-team playoff but the first without Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide.
“We have a lot to prove in this game,” Saban said Friday in a news conference. “We’re a little disappointed in how we finished the season, so this is an opportunity that we have to go try and play well against a good team. It creates a lot of value for our team and for our program if we play well.
