The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public to help them locate two people who stole a purse from a shopper at an area grocery store.

The incident happened on Christmas Eve at a Food City grocery store on Walnut Avenue, according to a news release. The victim told Dalton police that she accidentally left her clutch purse in a shopping cart, before heading back to her car.

The purse contained valuable items, including $280 in cash and bank cards, the release states.

Dalton police said the victim's debit card was used at a Marathon gas station in Calhoun, Georgia, shortly after the theft occurred.

The suspects were caught on store surveillance video, and are described as being a white male and a white female.

Anyone who recognizes the suspects or who has information about the crime is asked to contact Detective Charles Williams at 706-278-9085.
