The Chattanooga-Hamilton County Health Department found two things in common about two Chattanooga area restaurants - insects.

China Moon on Brainerd Road received a score of 74 after a recent health inspection found dirty food contact surfaces, improper cooling and holding temperatures, evidence of insects and rodents and failure to prevent contamination during food preparation. The report also stated that person in charge was not able to demonstrate food safety knowledge or perform duties.

86 Chopstix on Lee Highway was given a score of 86 after an inspection noted insects, handwashing sinks improperly stocked or inaccessible, unlabeled chemicals and improper thawing methods being used.

Six area restaurants received perfect scores.

The Chattanooga-Hamilton County Health Department inspects restaurants twice a year and grades the businesses on a 100-point scale. Scores below 70 require corrective action.
