‘Welcome to Night Vale’
Podcasts are like the new radio. But one in particular mimics the radio shows of old, with actors and special effects turning the storyline into a vivid mind’s-eye movie for listeners.
This week, “Welcome to Night Vale” will take that a step farther when it comes to the Walker Theatre for a live stage production of the podcast that’s been heralded as “incredible, spooky, funny, and monumentally charming.”
The live show, called “A Spy in the Desert,” is a standalone story with an entirely new script that will never be heard on the podcast, and while listeners have no trouble envisioning the typical antics portrayed through the twice-monthly production, actors and special guests will make sure that’s the case at Thursday’s show.
