There is TONS going on this weekend – from a family-friendly free Community Day at the Bessie Smith Cultural Center, to the launch of this summer’s Riverfront Nights concert series, to an adults-only summer camp-themed after-hours event at the Creative Discovery Museum.
But don’t forget about Thursday! In honor of the Hunter Museum’s “landmark exhibition” featuring more than 20 original pieces by both William J. Glackens and Pierre-Auguste Renoir, guests can create their own Impressionist work with the help of local artists.
For inspiration, you’ll begin with a tour of the “William J. Glackens and Pierre-Auguste Renoir: Affinities and Distinctions” exhibit with the Hunter’s curator of education, followed by a wine-infused paint class. (Guests must be 21 and older. Pre-registration required. Additional classes scheduled for Aug. 15 and Sept. 12.)
