Documentary at The Palace

“Here to Be Heard: The Story of the Slits” will be shown at The Palace Theater, 818 Georgia Ave., from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, as part of the Sunday Slashers Series produced by Justin Savage. It was written and directed by William E. Badgley, who chronicled the history of the female punk band. Jen Shagat of Shellshag, one of the film’s co-executive producers, will be on hand to discuss the film, as well. Admission is $5, and the screening is designed to coincide with the Do Ya Hear We music festival. Shellshag plays Saturday night at Sluggo’s. “You can watch the movie and then head over to JJ’s Bohemia,” Savage said.

Do Ya Hear We, a punk rock music festival, returns to Chattanooga on Friday-Sunday, July 26-28. Started in summer 2007 by Brian Hensley and Scott Balch, the music festival is presenting more than 30 acts this weekend.
