Some Cleveland High School students will have to provide their own transportation this year

Starting this August, families that reside within certain areas in the city of Cleveland and Bradley County will now have to provide transportation for their children to Cleveland High School this school year.

The school district has implemented “Parent Responsibility Zones” for students that live within 1.5 miles of the school per Tennessee transportation funding laws, according to a press release. The state does not provided funding for students that live that close to the school.

The boundaries of the zone for Cleveland High are Paul Huff Parkway on the north, Interstate 75 on the west, North Ocoee Street on the east, and 25th Street on the south.

Parents will be responsible for getting their students to school, whether that means driving or walking.
