Recently we published our story “Changes bring smaller crowds to Riverbend” to Facebook, and our followers had dozens of opinions on what might be done differently next year.
Phil Campbell commented, “If they really want to be a ‘big time’ festival, Riverbend will need an identity. A festival booking old rock acts, country acts, modern R&B acts, with an occasional modern rock act will never be successful in that location. Pick your target audience and book accordingly. Another suggestion – get a stage setup that allows the ‘best’ seats to actually see the whole stage. Another suggestion – move the entire festival to Finley Stadium/1st Tennessee Pavilion.”
