LISA DENTON: Barry, every time the calendar approaches the Bonnaroo Festival, I find myself thinking of cuckoo clocks and “The Sound of Music.” Which is to say, “So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, adieu.” I’ll see you back here next week.

BARRY COURTER: It does feel like I’m heading off to a foreign country, especially if you’ve seen the stuff I pack in the back of my truck. But, thanks to the wonders of modern technology, it’s like I’m just a satellite or two away. Seriously, the plan, as ever, is to post a bunch of updates and photos on social media and to have some stories and photos in the newspaper and at timesfreepress.com.

LISA: It’s wild how diverse the lineup is. Just on Sunday, there’s Phish, The Lumineers, Cardi B and Brandi Carlile. You’d be unlikely to find them in the same place except at the Grammys.

I know you’ll see some great acts, but it does mean you’ll miss The Fridge at Nightfall. They’re a trance/dance/funk band from Chattanooga who won the Road to Nightfall earlier this year. Their headlining slot is Friday, with Danimal Planet opening.

BARRY: I do hate missing that show as they are both really good. I am glad that I will not miss all of the Chattanooga Festival of Black Arts & Ideas. This event starts Wednesday and continues at various locations including the Chattanooga Theatre Centre, Chattanooga Public Library, Matilda Midnight and Miller Park. It includes spoken word, music, a staged play reading and a film screening.
