It’s true. The female seahorse transfers her eggs to the male’s abdominal pouch, then the male fertilizes them. A few weeks later, he will give birth to anywhere between 5 and 1,000 offspring.
Really, what other dad in the animal kingdom could compete with the seahorse’s commitment to fatherhood?
