Former Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams will speak in Dalton on Sunday afternoon.

Abrams, who narrowly lost to Brian Kemp in November, is coming here as part of her ongoing “Thank You Tour,” a spokesman said. She will speak at the Dalton Convention Center at 4:30 p.m. Doors will open at 4.

With a strong fundraising network, Abrams has continued to tour the state and the country in the moths since her loss. She also hosted meetings with Democratic presidential candidates during their stops in Georgia, including Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren and Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar.

Abrams’ recent meeting with former vice president Joe Biden created speculation that the two had worked out an agreement, with Biden running for president and Abrams filling out the ticket. Both politicians have denied the report.

In addition to a run for president, Abrams has been linked to a potential 2020 run against Republican U.S. Senator David Perdue, as well as a rematch in 2022 against Kemp.
