BARRY COURTER: Lisa, I know it’s a little early, but Happy Mother’s Day to you, your mom and your daughter. I heard somebody say once that you can’t really judge a person’s parenting skills until you meet their grandchild(ren). I reckon you and your mother did all right then.

LISA DENTON: Wow, if you think my mother did an OK job, then she won’t have to fan herself over some of the things I say and write. It’s all in good fun, of course, but she worries about me sometimes. And also my brother, but that’s for a whole ‘nother reason.

She does like it when I tell that Freudian slip joke, when you say one thing and mean your mother.

And best wishes to all the mothers and mothers-to-be in your family. It’s nice that you’re being so pleasant today.

BARRY: Yeah, well, don’t get used to it. Anyway, there are lots of events tied to Mother’s Day. Several restaurants are offering special meals and both the Chattanooga Market at First Tennessee and the Collegedale Market at the Commons there are having special celebrations.
