Artist Timur Akhriev will go brush to brush with visiting artist Nicolas Uribe of Bogota, Colombia, at the next Art Throwdown on Tuesday, May 14.
This will be the seventh Art Throwdown hosted by Townsend Atelier in The Arts Building, 301 E. 11th St. The contest is from 6 to 9 p.m., free and open to the public.
Fun and informative, these throwdowns offer the rare opportunity to watch two professional artists paint the same model in front of a live audience. Questions – and a little good-natured heckling – are encouraged.
Both artworks will be auctioned off at the end of the evening.
Although the event is free, reservations are encouraged to accommodate seating. RSVP through Townsend Atelier’s Facebook page or call 423-266-2712.
