Gwendolyn Calloway was allegedly arguing with a man on Tuesday when things took a turn.
The man, who was friendly with her, was trying to get Calloway to leave the house where they were, the man told police.
Then, as the argument grew more intense, the 26-year-old Calloway grabbed a knife and stabbed the man in the neck, Hamilton County court records show.
Police were called, and when they arrived, they found blood on the sidewalk in front of the home and both Calloway and the man sitting on the porch, their clothes “soaked in blood,” court records state.
The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment of severe injuries, though his condition – whether it was life-threatening or not – was not stated in court records.
He initially told police he “fell on a knife,” but after further questioning, he told police about the argument and then being stabbed, court records state.
Police were unable to locate the weapon used to stab him.
While at the scene, police detained Calloway. They asked her for identifying information, but she repeatedly provided false information, court records show.
“The only way officers were able to identify Ms. Calloway is by information that the victim provided to officers at the hospital,” Calloway’s arrest report states.
She was charged with attempted second-degree murder, and because she provided false identifying information she was charged with criminal impersonation.
Calloway has two other arrests in Hamilton County, online court records show: one for aggravated domestic assault in 2015 and another for criminal trespassing in 2016.
