Aerotek is seeking employees with prior experience in production, manufacturing, machine operation, warehouse, or logistics to fill the open posts. Positions are contracted for up to 24 months, according to the company.

Aerotek will host a hiring event for candidates to apply and interview in person on Saturday at the Chattanooga Volkswagen plant.

The VW factory, which already employs about 3,500, this week is launching a new SUV, the five-seat Atlas Cross Sport, based of its popular seven-seat Atlas.

Also, VW has announced an $800 million expansion to assemble a new all-electric SUV by 2022 and hire 1,000 more workers.
