Members of the Greater Chattanooga Realtors presented $5,800 worth of gift cards to all teachers at East Brainerd Elementary School, which was almost completely destroyed in the devastating April tornadoes.

"Our committee wanted to give back after the storms," Jay Young, 2020 chairman of the Community Partnerships Committee, said. "We heard that this school had been decimated, and we wanted to help."

Greater Chattanooga Realtors provided 116 teachers each a $50 gift card to use in their classroom. Members of the Community Partnerships Committee presented the gift cards to Principal Saunya Goss and other teachers of East Brainerd Elementary as they were moving into their temporary location at East Hamilton Middle High.

"It's so encouraging and heartwarming to know that there is still compassion out there," Goss said. "It's good for the teachers to be recognized for the work that they do. It means a lot."
