Cartoonist Bennett got it exactly right on Melania and more letters to the editors

Cartoonist Bennett got it exactly right on Melania

The recent letter writer who criticized Clay Bennett’s “Christmas Card from the White House” signed by Melania Trump, who praised Melania for showing “class,” and who said Melania would never do anything like that apparently doesn’t get out much. I think Clay’s characterization is reasonable, since Melania said, “Who gives a f— about Christmas?!?”

Before the writer cries “fake news,” there is a recording. For those who want to hear Melania’s unexpurgated comment, it’s easy to find on YouTube. The writer may want to spare virgin ears.

Clay Bennett is one of the reasons I keep my subscription to the TFP.

Standardize voting rules to protect all elections

I stood in line for one hour, in the hot sun, showed my ID, and voted. I was happy to do so.

I have an opinion on mail-in ballots. Mailing thousands and thousand of ballots out to everyone is similar to poking a piñata, and folks standing with their hands out waiting for candy to fall into them.

When people want power by any means, the temptation for fraud is there.

To select a president of the United States is a great privilege. The process should be secure.

The mess of this election should never happen again.

We should have a federally mandated law that all states are under the same strict guidelines.

Why would we have it any other way? To do so, will turn our wonderful country into a lawless Third World country.

Pray for our country.

Don’t be fooled by 2000 ‘recount’ assertions

Let’s look at the “seems like one million recounts” of the Florida vote in 2000 cited in the Nov. 29th Free Press editorial. In truth, not one recount was taken despite a 537-vote margin out of six million.

Research the history in which Secretary of State Harris (Bush’s campaign manager) certified the votes after Republican protesters (see Brooks Brother Riot) shut down the recount. Florida’s Supreme Court voted to continue the recount, but a barrage of Bush’s lawyers forced the Supreme Court to intervene and overrule the state’s election decision.

One person elected Bush in a 5-4 Supreme Court decision. Gore conceded while winning the popular vote by 543,895. Talk about a stolen election. Trump lost by thousands and tens of thousands in the contested states. Look up 2000 and compare it to today’s trumped-up charges.

Trump haters will get what they wanted

I never thought in my lifetime that I would see such underhanded and criminal actions as I have witnessed in this national election.

To all you Trump haters, you have tried for four years to remove him from office, but you have yet to find him guilty of anything. The only thing he is guilty of is protecting our borders, strengthening our military and creating an economy that is second to none.

You want a change of direction; you are sure going to get it. My advice to you is hold on to your wallet, your guns and your rights as an American. As far as our economy, you will probably be reminded of that great sucking sound that presidential candidate Ross Perot spoke of. If the corporate taxes are re-installed as your president-elect proposes, get ready.

Social media has been and still is on a mission to destroy President Trump, including is our own Chattanooga Times Free Press. It has blasted our president from the beginning. The front page reads to give the news impartially without fear or favor. Many articles printed have called Trump supporters stupid and ignorant.
