Through the Eyes of a Soldier
The Charles H. Coolidge Medal of Honor Heritage Center, opening this Saturday, contains countless historical and personal artifacts, but it’s not meant to be a museum. It’s meant to be an immersive experience. The interactive exhibits don’t just tell the stories of soldiers who have earned the nation’s highest military honor, they put you in the middle of the action alongside those brave men.
This week, we bring you a primer for the center’s grand opening – some of the untold stories from the battlefield – along with a few other stories that illustrate, in their own way, some of the tenets the heritage center hopes to uphold: patriotism, citizenship, courage, integrity, sacrifice and community.
