It’s been awhile since I’ve offered a single product with worlds of uses other than the job it’s originally intended to do. Today’s smart invention does a super-duper job of easily cleaning many surfaces in the home. Just add a bit of water and come-clean voilá!

With that said, however, don’t relegate Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to what we think it only does; instead, try some of amazing and money-saving benefits outlined in today’s column.

The only downside to the eraser blocks is they don’t last long – a testament to their cleaning power, as their tiny pores get filled with all the gross gunk that’s hiding in small spaces. Please follow my tried-and-true techniques to make the Eraser last lots longer:

1. Cut into fourths to get four times the amount of cleaning.

2. Lightly mist it rather than saturating it with water.
