A two-car crash Monday in DeKalb County, Alabama, killed two people in the Lakeview community, a couple of miles south of the town of Fyffe, according to a Alabama Law Enforcement Agency spokesman.

Emily Rae Denham, 19, of Dutton, was killed when the 2015 Nissan Altima she was driving collided with a 2020 Mack tractor trailer, ALEA spokesman senior trooper Chuck Daniel said in a statement.

Denham and passenger, Cody Austin Martin, 20, of Pisgah, were pronounced dead at the scene, Daniel said. The driver of the Mack truck was uninjured.

The crash happened at 11:40 a.m. CST on Alabama Highway 75 at the intersection with Dekalb County Road 400, Daniel said. An investigation is continuing.
