Tennessee-made Lodge cast iron skillet best purchase of last decade, say editors of leading online magazine

The folks at Lodge Manufacturing Company over in South Pittsburg, Tenn., got a nice endorsement from the editors at Slate.

Slate, a leading online magazine based in New York, named the Tennessee company's seasoned cast iron skillet their favorite purchase of the last decade.

Not just last year, mind you, but the whole decade of the 2010s.

Here's a quote from the Slate article: "Of all the things I collected in that time, one very dependable and practical thing stands out: my Lodge cast-iron skillet. I use it every day, would buy it over and over again, and enthusiastically recommend it to everyone I know."

The authors of the piece exalted the iconic piece of American cookware for its pre-seasoning and versatility - it can be used for both frying and baking.
