A Cherokee County, Alabama, woman was killed Tuesday morning in a single-car crash in neighboring DeKalb County on County Road 83, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Mimi Jan Luna, 52, of Gaylesville, was killed when the 1997 Jeep Wrangler she was driving left the road and overturned, senior trooper Derek R. Taylor said in a news release. Luna was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.
The crash happened about 2 miles north of Sand Rock and is still under investigation, officials said.
