Greetings, outdoorspeople!
- Weekend forecast: Saturday; high 78, scattered thunderstorms/ Sunday; high 79, partly cloudy
- Recommended adventure: Visit Rising Fawn Gardens, which will open its gates on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Typically, the 600-acre garden, which lies on the western slope of Lookout Mountain, is closed to the public, but this weekend it will host Fall Farm Day, featuring tours, mushroom tastings, hayrides and more. Learn more about the free event here.
- Most interesting thing we learned about nature this week: Reports of birds “falling from the sky” are now tentatively being attributed to the historic wildfire across California, Oregon and Washington – which may have forced birds to rush their migration. Read more about it here.
