- Recommended adventure: Test your endurance Monday, Aug. 16, during an 8.3-mile hike through the Cohutta Wilderness. The trail begins at Watson Gap then enters the wilderness area on the Benton MacKaye Trail. Along the loop, hikers will also use Hemp Top and Jack’s River trails, featuring miles of rugged beauty.
