Greetings, outdoorspeople!
Weekend forecast: Saturday; high 87, scattered thunderstorms/ Sunday; high 87, isolated thunderstorms
Recommended adventure: Tomorrow, June 10, from 7:30-10 p.m., Reflection Riding will host the film premiere of “Bigger Than Me,” a 13-minute film that follows the life of Clark Brewer, an African-American musician from Chattanooga who works to break down the barriers that keep his community underrepresented in outdoor spaces. The cast and crew from the documentary will be at the event, which will also feature live music by Klark Kint, as well as food and beer from Hutton & Smith Brewing Co. Tickets are $30 each. Most interesting thing we recently learned: You can earn free rewards for taking fun, sustainable trips throughout the Tennessee Valley. Green Trips is a free program that lets you record your eco-friendly travels in exchange for coupons and discounts at local businesses.
The idea is to reduce traffic and air pollution by walking, biking, carpooling, taking the bus or working from home, and the area covers all of Catoosa and Hamilton counties and the northern portions of Walker and Dade counties. But you don’t have long to take advantage of the program – which will be ending this September.
