The Scenic City has plenty of outdoor dining, but new rooftop spots have been popping up all over town in the last few years, including a first-of-its-kind option for folks who want to raise a glass on the roof in the Hamilton Place area.

“There’s a need for the hotel rooms out there and demand, but the locals are also really going to appreciate and gravitate to that space,” said Lynn Mucciano, vice president of sales and marketing for Vision Hospitality. “There’s nothing like that to serve that part of the community.”

Vision opened the WXYZ Lounge at the Aloft Hotel on Tuesday, planting the first rooftop bar in Chattanooga’s suburbs. Vision owner Mitch Patel called the perch “a rare amenity for a suburban property in a mid-size city.”

“Experiences are the new commodity, and Aloft Hotels get that,” Patel said in an announcement of the opening.
