Your Wednesday at a glance:
- Weather: High of 73.
- What’s going down: Gas prices. Area residents are seeing lower prices at the pump this week.
- What to eat: For Chattanooga’s Southern Star chef Nancy Adams, cooking was passed down through the generations.
- What’s opening: A new Publix opens today in Chattanooga. And its developer says it’s not your cookie-cutter store.
Good morning, Chattanooga!
Last year, 7-year-old Kariyana Donev’s design and message – “6 ft apart, but still in my heart” – for our annual wrapping paper contest won its way into our hearts and our newspaper.
I may have missed last year’s printing on our premium paper, but I’m looking forward to wrapping as many of my gifts as possible with this year’s winning design. (I know my mom reads these so I won’t go into too much detail about what all I need to wrap.)
This is the last week of the contest, so if you know a kid in grades 1-5 who would like to show off their artistic skills, you can enter their designs here.
We’ve already got some great entries, but can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with.
Now for some recent stories:
SAVING STORIES: Assassinations. Moon landings. Wars. This 97-year-old Hixon man has been collecting newspapers since the 1930s. But now that his eyesight is failing, he’s hoping that the TFP digital edition will be able to help.
DRIVE THROUGH JITTERS: Scooter’s Coffee is adding its third kiosk in Hamilton County.
A-B-C-DIVERSITY: “Sesame Street” has debuted its first Asian American muppet.
