Good morning and welcome back to School Report. After a few school district closures last week following the long weekend, most school systems across Southeast Tennessee have reopened this week for face-to-face learning.
School leaders have attributed closures to staff shortages and student absences due to rising COVID-19 spread, and school districts in Southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia have recently reported bus driver shortages as well.
On Friday, Hamilton County Schools announced the deaths of two students attending Soddy Daisy High School. We will continue working to find out more about the circumstances.
