Part of a series inspired by the chaos theory, this piece “started as a palette-knife painting of bright primary colors in acrylic,” says Mindy June Kelly. “Over a few months, layers of various media – including paint, plaster, ink and pencil – were added and also subtracted, letting the materials dictate the direction the piece took with each layer. The final layers incorporate a large natural doodle created in charcoal and then detailed with acrylic paint and pencil. Confetti from a vintage magazine page was added for the final element of chaos.”
