Your Tuesday at a glance:

Good morning, Chattanooga!

After 150 years, Chattanooga’s Read House is filled with decades of stories.

From countless weddings and celebrations to tales of a haunted room, the hotel, which opened in 1872, is the oldest continually operated hotel in the South.

“This hotel is like a hidden vault full of priceless treasures to uncover, and I’ve spent countless hours pouring over photographs, newspapers and other hotel ephemera,” said Tyler Logue, a board member for the Chattanooga Area Historical Association.

Read was purchased with plans for restoration to its 1920s glory in 2016.

“It was a rebirth, not just a renovation,” said developer Jon Weitz.

Here’s how the hotel will celebrate its 150th year and more tales from the halls of this historical establishment.

Now for some recent stories:

LABOR OF LOVE: Hamilton County school resource officer Mike Houston calls his work a ‘labor of love.’

EASY OUT: A new bill would make it easier for Tennesseans to cancel automatic renewals.

CON NOOGA: While I personally had forgotten Con Nooga was happening this weekend when I happened upon costumed figures downtown, here’s a gallery with a look at the event.
