Shortly after 7 a.m., fire officials confirmed a lightning strike to the roofline of a home in the 4400 block of Johnson Road. The strike did not penetrate the inside of the house, and no fire or injuries were reported, the release stated.
The second incident occurred in the 7300 block of South Dent Road, where Dallas Bay fire crews and Red Bank fire crews responded to a home with reported smoke coming through the roof. When crews arrived at the scene at 7:37 a.m., they went inside and found fire on one side of the home, according to officials. The fire was extinguished, and no injuries were reported. The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation into the fire to further determine the cause, authorities said.
