Good morning, Chattanooga!
As I avoided the office for the majority of the Omicron wave, I finally bought a desk for my apartment in February, while joking that the second I put it together, cases would drop significantly and we would be on the horizon of being called back into the office on a regular basis. (I wasn’t too far off.)
While I had a basic toolset and my friend to help me put the pieces together, sometimes DIY projects require more substantial and specialized tools. Like if you need a leaf blower to propel yourself while rollerblading on the riverfront.
With his mullet, a hard hat and polarized sunglasses, Randy McRentals, a.k.a. Michael Love, runs Rent My Equipment, an online marketplace for peer-to-peer short-term rentals.
“A couple of months ago, someone listed a champagne fountain,” Love said of a more unique item. Others include things like ladders, grills and inflatable bounce houses.
Now for some recent stories:
20U40: Chatter Magazine’s annual 20 under 40 nominations are open, and this year the theme is “brain gain,” with a special focus on talented young professionals who’ve transplanted here and can’t call Chattanooga their hometown, but do call it their home. For this year only, nominations are limited to those high achievers under 40 who moved here as adults. If you, or someone you know, fits this description, please complete the nomination form by April 22.
TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK: TVA is teaming up with the Oak Ridge lab to explore technologies to cut carbon emissions.
RESCUE MISSION: After an extensive search, two men were rescued Wednesday morning from a Lookout Mountain cave.
