Bradley County Sheriff’s Office investigating after child found unresponsive in pool

The Bradley County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a 2-year-old child was found unresponsive in a pool on Sunday, according to a news release.

At 1:18 p.m., Bradley County deputies along with emergency and fire rescue crews were dispatched to an address on Burnt Ridge Drive in Charleston, Tennessee, following a report of a possible drowning. The call came when "neighbors discovered an unresponsive child in their pool," the release stated.

It is not known how long the child was in the water, and lifesaving efforts were administered at the scene by neighbors and emergency personnel.

The child was transported to Tennova Hospital and remained in critical condition as of Sunday evening, the release said.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
